Five years ago the Reagan Library released the Alito memos, which detailed the strategy to create the signing statement, among other things.
Now that President Obama has nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to take over the Supreme Court seat vacated by retiring Justice Stevens, and since Kagan previously worked as a domestic policy adviser in the Clinton administration, the Clinton Library has dumped a number of her memos which are fascinating.
